Teaming with New York City based design studio ICRAVE, HHL Architects designed and renovated The Western Door Steakhouse at the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino. Aiming to attract a younger audience, the venue was redesigned to provide a modern, timeless atmosphere. The 185-seat restaurant allows guests enjoy the casino’s energy from the comfort of an upscale, intimate setting.

When entering, guests find The Bistro, a destination for cocktails and food. The interior features rich textures and glowing elements. Custom sconces create a warm setting over banquette seating and an internally-lit, wine display acts as a beacon. Entering The Chophouse through an amber glowing portal, a central four-arm ceiling pendant sets the mood. Lushly tufted banquettes and walnut tones fill the room, while a whiskey room provides views overlooking the casino floor. Additional features include a whiskey wall, a private dining room, and a window revealing a glimpse of the kitchen. Design continuity between the two spaces is accentuated through wood wall paneling with brass and mirror accents. A lighting system responding to an astronomic time clock allows for smooth transitions into the evening.
