Since 2016, HHL has been asked to design interior and exterior renovations to the venerable Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, New York, a stately English Tudor Clubhouse constructed in 1926. The first small project was for improvements to existing second floor Men’s and Women’s Toilet Rooms. HHL Architects worked with Club management and oversight committee to develop a proposed design and finish drawings for presentation. Once approved, HHL prepared construction document drawings for bidding purposes. Detailed cost estimate was prepared with the assistance of BRD Construction, a general contractor based in Buffalo, NY. The Club has slated the project for construction in late 2019.
In 2018, HHL was engaged to prepare designs for restoration and repair to the existing exterior Pro Shop stair/landing and new ornamental iron railings at existing rooftop terrace parapets. New limestone veneer, treads and paving will clad the existing concrete stair construction, more in keeping with the Clubhouse exterior stone-trimmed façade and detailing. Ornamental wood balusters and trim will be replaced with new to match existing. This project will be completed in early 2019.
