Hyatt relocated their existing retail shop into this renovated former office space. The design was conceptualized by Virserius Studio and implemented by HHL Architects. This shop was designed to look like an upscale Main Street retail shop. Picture frame moldings, leaded glass windows, and a quaint blade sign ornament the exterior of the lobby side of the shop. This creates an inviting aesthetic and is a welcome contrast to the surrounding look and feel of the Hyatt lobby interior.
Inside the shop, a large-scale hexagonal tile floor coupled with dark wood retail displays with industrial hardware creates a bold visual. The same picture frame molding detail from the store’s exterior is carried into the interior, and an enlarged vintage map of Buffalo serves as the room’s accent wall.
