HHL Architects was engaged to provide design and engineering services for the restoration of this National Register-listed historic, former train terminal located in Buffalo’s East Side. Our initial assignment in 1996 was the execution of a comprehensive Existing Conditions Study of the complex.
Subsequent work focused on restoring the building envelope to be weather tight to halt deterioration. Following, a masonry survey identifying areas needing repointing or rebuilding was completed. All work was completed under the auspices of the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation and funded, in part, by the NYS EPF grant program. The project follows the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Treatment of Historic Properties.
