HHL Architects was engaged to design the new home of the Buffalo Center for Arts & Technology (BCAT). It is located on the ground and lower levels of Artspace Buffalo Lofts, also designed by HHL. The BCAT is a collaboration between the Manchester Bidwell Corporation and Artspace Projects. It will house a variety of educational and training programs that will benefit youths at-risk of dropping out of high school and adults who are either unemployed or underemployed.

The design takes advantage of the fourteen-foot ceiling on the ground floor storefront for the classroom and laboratory spaces, along with the entry lobby gallery space. A new open stair connects the program space down to the support and administrative spaces located on the lower level.
