In 2017, HHL was engaged to prepare a study for potential expansion and renovations to the existing Brookfield Country Club Clubhouse and Pool Facility. The study presented conceptual design and renderings for proposed additions to the existing 40,500 square foot simplified English Tudor Clubhouse building, which was originally constructed in 1926. In 1992, part of the clubhouse was demolished with an addition constructed for Pro Shop/Cart Storage, Member’s Grill Room and locker rooms. HHL initially prepared a Facilities Conditions Assessment and then a Space Program Report after meeting with Club LRP Committee and management. A structural investigation of the grand ballroom was also conducted, including examination of exterior building envelope concerns.
Conceptual design work for the study included a completely renovated and expanded ballroom with 300 seat capacity, member’s private dining rooms, and a new 153 seat capacity Member’s Bar/Grille addition with exterior terraces at the escarpment overlooking the golf course. Enhancing the member’s experience included a new Porte Cochere at the main and banquet building entrances, as well as an expanded East Porch incorporating a halfway house grill and outside dining under roof, to observe the 18th hole. The existing kitchen would be fully modernized, and administrative areas would be renovated and consolidated. The project was budgeted at $8M.
