HHL Architects was engaged by the SUCF to design improvements and upgrades to this I.M. Pei designed building, including the King Concert Hall, Marvel Theater, Bartlett Theater, art classrooms, and the exterior roof and plaza.

In all three theaters, the scope of work included repairs and improvements to theater lighting and electrical systems, theater seating, the stage, fire alarm and protection systems, and the ventilation systems. The classrooms received plumbing upgrades, while the plaza deck received varied repairs and new lighting. Lastly, the entire building received a complete roof replacement.

HHL provided full architectural services from initial study through construction administration. The owner understood the architectural significance of the building and sought an experienced architect that would be sensitive to the original intent of the I.M. Pei designed structure.
