HHL Architects was selected by this Toronto-based developer to conceptualize a design and long-range plan to redevelop this site into a new residential community. The former industrial site, located just east of the historic Old Fort Niagara, presents a spectacular view across Lake Ontario towards Toronto, Canada.

The plan attempts to retain as many of the original mature oak trees as possible to create an old-built setting. 32 single family villas are organized along new streets at the southern edge of the site to correspond with the existing adjacent “cottage” neighborhood. A new five story, 92 unit condominium building is nestled between the shoreline and the wooded villa streets. The new condominium building is intended to recall the lodge styling of the Adirondacks or Rocky Mountains. Underground parking is provided to minimize the intrusion onto the landscape.
