The primary focus of this study was a city block that contains two highly valued historic structures, and the site where Mary Talbert’s home once stood. An urban park would be created in the center of the study block with three gated paths. The multiple paths connecting the gates are symbolic of the many different journeys people took along the underground railroad. In-fill housing and street improvements around the new park reinforce the sense of community.
