The Medaille Elementary School is a one-story structure on a campus of school buildings which includes Mt. St. Joseph’s Academy and Medaille College. The building is linked to adjacent buildings but makes a distinct departure architecturally because of its scale and layout. The school incorporates open classrooms for team teaching. The circulation space is centralized and incorporated with daylight into the resource area. In 1979, this project was selected as one of the four outstanding buildings of the decade in Western New York by the AIA Buffalo/WNY Chapter.
