HHL designed improvements for the pedestrian paths that extend from the parking ramp located in front of the main terminal building. The operator of the airport, the Niagara Frontier Transit Authority (NFTA), wanted to improve the experience of travelers going to and from the parking and car rental areas. Additionally, they wanted patrons to be more protected from rain, snow, and wind.

The design study included various glass “canopies” over the pedestrian bridges which link the parking ramp and car rental building to the terminal. Additionally, HHL designed interior improvements for the stair towers including a new South facing wind screen at the parking ramp entry to the stair tower.
