In 2013, HHL designed the renovation to a seasonal 1950’s era cottage, high on a bluff in densely forested area overlooking Thunder Bay Beach, a private community in Fort Erie Ontario. The entire cottage exterior cladding and roofing were replaced with new materials, consisting of prefinished stained and painted western red cedar siding, new aluminum clad wood exterior windows and doors and asphalt shingle roofing. The cottage interior was fully renovated, including redesign of baths and kitchen. Living areas and bedrooms with spectacular views of Lake Erie were finished with western red cedar at walls and ceilings. Mechanical and electrical systems were replaced, exterior walls and roof were insulated so that the beach house can be used year-round. HHL worked with local Fort Erie contractors and vendors. The project was completed in phases during winters, by Spring 2017.
