In 2017, HHL was engaged to design a new contemporary home for a repeat client, in the tranquil Village of Williamsville, NY. The secluded 1.1 acre property had a spring-fed pond in the front yard with a historic stone landscape wall along the road. The property also sloped significantly from rear to front, allowing for a walk-out lower level into the deep front yard. The house is predominantly 1-story consisting of living/dining areas, kitchen and master bedroom suite with walkout finished lower level living spaces and a partial second floor bedroom wing for family and guests. A detached stone-faced garage structure was designed for car collection storage. The Owners expressly desired a ‘stone’ exterior for this home. New aluminum clad wood exterior windows and doors and slate shingle roofing completed the exterior materials palette. The residence interior living spaces, Kitchen, bedrooms and
exterior balconies and terraces are all provided with serene views of the expansive yard and pond. Unfortunately the project as designed was not constructed.
