HHL Architects analyzed the functionality and deficiencies of the College’s I.M. Pei designed student center, developing a space planning study and long-range plan for capital improvements to the building.

Subsequently, the Fredonia Faculty Student Association implemented full food service upgrades to the lower level, as outlined in the space planning study. Vibrant colors, circular motifs, and flexible spaces were used to define distinct program areas of the lower level, which has limited natural daylight.

HHL Architects was engaged concurrently by SUNY Fredonia to design improvements to student support spaces, staff locker rooms, common public toilets, and fire protection systems. The colors utilized in the food service areas were carried through other public spaces on the same level.
