This single family residential home overlooks the Niagara River. The floor plan was designed around the salvaged in-ground pool and rear terrace, while the footprint required zoning variances to construct within the narrow site. A three-story tower overlooking the river gorge affords splendid views with a top story ‘perch’ that provides unbelievable sightlines up-river, down-river and across to Canada.

The house is comprised of simple salt-box shaped volumes. Exterior façade materials are of low-maintenance poly-ash based prefinished siding and PVC trim, prefinished aluminum clad windows, asphalt shingles with white standing seam metal roof on the main and projecting stair tower. Interior spaces have vaulted, soaring ceilings with trim-less doors and windows. This provides a simple and minimalist ‘canvas’ for the owners to furnish the interior spaces and display artwork throughout.
