HHL Architects has completed design of the first phase of Highland Park, a transit-oriented development located within walking distance to the Buffalo Metro Rail. The development comprises a mix of residential unit types including apartments and townhouses, landscaped commons, and commercial space primarily for the convenience of the area residents.
The 27-acre site will ultimately add hundreds of new housing units to meet the growing demand for middle class housing in Buffalo. The first phase under construction includes multi-family, 3-story tall buildings. The design of these buildings by HHL Architects demonstrates sensitively to the pedestrian scale of the neighborhood with its mix of siding, brick and stone materials, and canopies over individual entrances to each apartment.
